Oh So Pretty

Wearing the Narni pink dress from Bonpoint.

New Arrival

Look what arrived in the post!  An arrival from Bonpoint is far more exciting than one from Net-a-Porter.

Bonpoint or Bonton ?

Which of these lovely French fancies do you prefer ?  Both are delicious and completely irresistable but do you find yourself more drawn to one than the other ?  I find myself buying Bonpoint for the baby but less and less for my  five year old.  Beautiful as Bonpoint is I think Bonton has more sass and is more current for the older girls.  What do you think ?

Flexing My Flexible Little Friend

Sitting up late at night with just the baby and tv for company is a recipe for disaster.  It invariably leads to me trawling the internet for clothing sites.  Since having children, Bonpoint, Elias & Grace and Little Fashion Gallery amongst others, have become my new best friends.  Who would have thought that I could get more joy from children's clothing sites than from Net-a-porter ?  Check out my latest acquisitions...yet to arrive.

Spring Looks

It always amazes me how the shops are full of summer clothes at the end of the winter sales in January.  It gets me thinking ahead to the summer, not to mention yearning for some sun and inevitably reaching for my wallet!  Here are a few looks from Bonpoint that have cheered me up.

To Ebay or not to Ebay ?

I love a bargain which is just as well considering the price of designer clothes.  I have recently discovered the joys of Ebay.  Yes, I am sure most of you have been there and done that but you really can pick up a bargain.  I recently purchased a Bonpoint cardigan and blouse which were in lovely condition. £10 each!  Bargain.
I do wonder though if some people do their homework.  I have seen some Bonpoint items going for little less than what they sell for in the sale.  I'd definitely rather have a brand new item, packaged beautifully from the store than from who knows where.  For now I tread lightly and keep an eye out for a gem.  They are out there!

Prima Ballerina

Dress by Nanos, cardigan Caramel Baby & Child and coat Baby Graziella accessorized with pink pearls from Aqualand theme park, Majorca

This is my big girl pictured outside the Peacock theatre where we went to see The National Ballet perform Prokiev's Cinderella.  It was specially choreographed to initiate young children into the delights of ballet.  As soon as the curtain went up and she saw the costumes she was hooked.  She was on the edge of her seat, completely mesmerised.  Lovely.

Spring but not as we know it...

At last.  I bought this outfit back in February, hoping that my little one would be wearing it this spring.  Well she is, but I envisioned it without the tights and wool cardigan.  Cardigan and skirt by Caramel Baby & Child and blouse by Mini Boden.

Woodland Creatures

I am so glad that this dress has got another outing.  My older daughter wore this first some five years ago.  It looks just as good now as it did then.  It is by Caramel Baby & Child.  It is ideal for this cold Easter as it is lined with the thickest lining I have ever seen on a dress.  In fact I have several dresses from the winter range from five years ago and all have a much thicker lining than those made for the current winter collection.  Small quibble and the dresses are still fab, but it is nice that this older dress does not need to be worn with a cardigan.  Why are things in the past always better ?

Dancing Queen

Today was a momentous day for my eldest girl.  She learned to tie her shoelaces! Only five, but she was so determined.  Here she is with her new Anniel shoes.  They are simply gorgeous and the reason she persevered.  I am so proud of her.

Celebrities

Harper Beckham in Caramel baby & Child AW12

How do you feel when you see celebrities wearing the same clothes that you own ?  Take the above outfit that Harper Beckham is wearing.  I very nearly bought this (way before she was pictured in this).  It was in the sale and was around £29, so a bargain considering the original price.  For reasons I forget I refrained from purchasing and boy am I glad.  I think people would just assume that I am copying some celebrity and that makes me feel very uncomfortable.  Don't get me wrong, I quite like Victoria Beckham.  Her clothes line is gorgeous and she has done well to reinvent herself.  Obviously she can dress her child in whatever she pleases and she clearly has good taste, but why oh why does it have to be my favourite - Caramel Baby & Child ? Boy does she love this designer.   I've been dressing my daughters in their clothes for six years.  I think it's time for me to seek out some new designers.  (sob)

Check Me Out

I do love checks, especially in dark colours.  Dress by Mon Marcel.

I Don't Get Out Of Bed For Less Than...

Zut alors! Fashion 'week' for children has arrived in London courtesy of  Alex and Alexa which sell childrens designerwear.  Esteemed names such as Chloe, Missoni and Jean Paul Gaultier to name but a few all staged a fashion show.  I'm somewhat ambivalent about it.  On the one hand I love fashion; it's creative, fun and provides escapism.  On the other hand the timing of this show seems a little out of step with the current economic climate.

It Shouldn't Happen in March

Easter is almost here which usually means sunny days and warm weather.  Instead it is cold, grey and dull.  More of the same is forecast until AFTER Easter.  The shops are full of spring and summer outfits but depressingly, my most recent purchase wasn't a bikini or sundress, it was a coat.  Yes, you read that correctly, I have just purchased a winter coat for my youngest.  I had it so well planned, only the weather decided not to play ball.  She is 4 months old which should have meant that she could use her 0-3 month coat until the end of the winter, then swap it for a spring one.  Unfortunately as the winter has dragged on and is predicted to go on for at least another month I have had to buy another bigger one... in March.
Finding a coat at this time of year is quite difficult.  The shops are full of summer clothes and most have put away anything to do with winter.  Luckily you can still find a few pieces online.  There isn't much choice but I was lucky enough to find this coat in the Caramel Baby & Child online sale.

Today she wore her new coat with this liberty print dress also from Caramel Baby, which is a hand me down from her big sister.

Bring Me Sunshine

Caramel Baby & Child
Here's my big girl rocking one of my favourite outfits.  She is wearing Caramel Baby & Child oatmeal cardigan and liberty print dress.  She has styled this with flower shaped sunglasses and sparkly stickers on the tights.  Fab!
